The Bilateral Intercession (sometimes the Bilateral Commission) is the faction of the Divine Principality which intends to maintain the empire in its historical form, contrary to the goals of its enemy faction the Pact of Free States. Led by Cynosure Whitestar-Kesh. It was previously known as the Curtain, and like the Curtain takes its membership mainly from Stels Nideo and Kesh. The Bilats "wield their control on culture, religion, and history as a weapon".[1]
Cynosure, the Peaceful Princept, led an ongoing civil coup of the Curtain in the years after the breakout of galactic civil war in the Principality. Two years after the Principality began invading Palisade, he rebranded the faction and the Curtain's extensive spy network became nothing more than a tool for the Bilats.
The Bilats' occupation of Palisade was led by Stargrave Elcessor.
Bilateral Intelligence Service[edit | edit source]
The Bilateral Intelligence Service, or BIS, is the intelligence arm of the Bilats, repurposed from the Curtain's network and formalized as a (slightly more) public agency akin to the intelligence organizations in the real world such as the CIA. "Though it is as secretive as ever, it is no longer the true source of power in Kesh territory. Instead, Cynosure Whitestar-Kesh has modernized its structure and operation, and has ensured that it remains well integrated into the Bilateral Intercession’s greater workings—as to better keep one eye on them."[2]
Its commander on Palisade is Connadine. Other known operatives include Fool Factotum and Marlon Styx.
Numerous BIS spies have infiltrated Violet Cove. Their names appear in spies.txt.
