Martilla Häske (/mɑːrˈtiə ˈhɛsk/) is a Hyphan member of the Pact. She would be in her mid 60s in human years, and is very small but with a sense of "potential energy". Stopped at Saboria on her way to the front lines because her mech needed refueling. She pilots the huge and fuel-intensive Under the Radar. Under the Radar is a monstrous "video game boss big" mech on caterpillar tracks, compared visually to Metal Gear EXCELSUS.[1]
She had a younger sister, Minerva, who was lost to old age. She has grandchildren and great-grandchildren, some of whom she has given autographs and memorabilia from other Pact pilots.
When asked to join the mission in "Lancer Pt. 1", Häske refuses to believe that the Pact has kidnapped anyone, but after Kaliope offers to let Häske turn her into the Pact afterwards, she agrees to participate anyway.

In the end, she does not turn Kaliope in, joins the rest of the Hypha in following the new Strand, and very very grudgingly becomes a part of the community. Narmine Te'ketch moves in next door to her to monitor her and make sure she doesn't contact the Pact.
