Maddie Franke is a young woman who works at Mosier's Grocier's in Bluff City. She's a PM keyholder, which is like a cashier, but if necessary, she can also go to the safe and unlock the baby formula.

Maddie has an irrational fear of entering the walk-in freezer, perhaps owing to a wild and unlikely rumour that the last general manager was found dead inside it. She has her eye on the die-cast model car next door in the accountant’s window and is pretty sure nobody would notice if she stole it.

Shortly before the events of Unincorporated, Maddie "flipped" a piece of furniture for Denise, who paid her with a scratch-off ticket instead of cash.

Maddie admires Thomas Jeany, the floral department supervisor. Thomas can't stand Maddie.
