False Fruit is a Guildsman of the Orchard Syndicate and Paris France's rival in the fruit trade.[1]

History and Involvement[edit | edit source]

False moves blue oranges and other fruit for the Orchard Syndicate. They sometimes do work with the Devotees.[2]

When False's child, Qualitative, disappears from the Brink, False goes to the Brink Proxy for help. He reports to Paris France that Qualitative may have been onboard The Joy in the Water, the ship that recently departed for Palisade. Despite the antipathy between them, Paris agrees to help him find his kid.[3]

They ask Strikeout, the local radio DJ, to send a signal to The Joy in the Water. The ship agrees to send Qualitative back in an escape pod,[4] and False and Qualitative are safely reunited. False agrees to tell Paris and Cheal what they know about the Devotees in exchange for passage off the station and a new job somewhere safe. They explain about Devotion and having seen the Devotees stockpiling supplies for war, and Paris sets them up with a job on Moonlock.[2]
