Dogmatic Mettle, aka Dog, is the protagonist of My Way and a former mech sumo wrestler turned mech pro wrestler. After being taken out of the 1423 Summer Passage of Arms by an injury, he moved on to pro wrestling.

History and Involvement

Dogmatic Mettle was born and raised in Nideo space, and as a highshcool student became interested in Mech Football. It was however his coach redirected him to a sport that better suited his talents; Mech Sumo. Dogmatic Mettle proceeded to be a successful Mech Sumo athlete, and while he was popular with his fans, he felt he was never really given support from the higher ups. Dogmatic’s career took a turn during his participation of the 1423 Summer Passage of Arms in where he took an early injury, resulting in his mech breaking down. After the injury he takes time to rehab, and moves into the Principality Wrestling Association under the persona of “Dog Metal”.

Dogmatic’s debut match is scheduled to be with the PWA fans are skeptical of the transition at first, and even Dogmatic himself looks down on the work. While he has a cold reception from many performers, Caden “The Sensation” Davis shows him the ropes. In Dogmatic’s scheduled debut he is set to appear at the end of a fight involving Vlad “Bone Daddy” Rivera and Caden. But when Vlad pushes the fight too far and Caden takes an injury, Dogmatic enters early to defend them, winning over many fans, but unfortunately not saving Caden from a serious injury, which puts them out of the ring for the foreseeable future. After the match Dogmatic goes on Steam and Smolder, a wrestling podcast hosted by Sara McKenzie and Jimmy Steamanski, two retired mech wrestlers, where he discusses the events of the last few weeks. He quickly becomes a regular on the show, joining them for their live show in a Nidean Deep Dish Steakhouse.

Dogmatic’s career with the PWA continues as he helps stand up to the brass from messing with Jade “The Dentist” Suzukis’ gimmick, and starts helping some newer talent like Brian “Thousand Dollar Man” Johnson. He is involved with a backstage dispute where six wrestlers from the Pact of Free States leave the PWA, including the current Belt of Honor holder Dash “City Slicker” Dubrovnik. This results in a new Belt of Honor championship being held, which Dogmatic wins. Shortly after the match Dogmatic receives a call that his old Mech Football coach died. As more shows start to be cancelled due to the war, Dogmatic has a quiet few months where he takes a school to go see a new film and reconnects with an old ex-boyfriend.

The PWA moves to Partizan for their next show, but dissolves shortly after due to rising tensions around the Pact of Free States and the Bilateral Intercession. In response Jimmy, Sara, and Dogmatic head up the creation of a new league - the Wrestlers First Alliance. They operate only in Nidean space, as there is an Apostolosian blockade around Palisade that makes leaving the sector impossible. Dogmatic wins their inaugural championship, however during an early match a fan with a homemade mech suit and a rocket launcher interferes. While no one is injured, the incident shakes them badly. Dogmatic is approached by representatives to come fight for the March Anecdatist Foundation, who are hosting matches on Palisade to collect combat data to use in automated soldiers, but Dogmatic declines the offer. Instead he moves to working on the business side of the WFA full time alongside Jimmy and Sara, who also make him a permanent third host of Steam and Smolder.

Mech

Dogmatic pilots the Harvester, which is described as looking like a hot rod with piston arms, despite also being farming equipment.

In the mech Sumo Dog admits that he took a long time to get ready to get back into the fights. He explains how the pipe burst (actuator in the right knee). Two matches earlier the plating over the hydraulic manifold started to warp.
