Discernment is a Divine known as "the camera that sees everything". It is part galactic spy satellite, part museum, and part military base. Its elect is Vigna.

Once a year it moves to orbit the galactic core, where it takes an impossibly detailed photograph of the galaxy. This is used by the Principality to great advantage. The information it holds include visuals of Palisade and evidence of the True Divine. It was used as a colonial museum and still contains stolen relics.

Discernment has a comprehensive internal and external surveillance system and reinforced internal defenses. Its strange, recursive interiors are bigger than they should be; people have gotten lost and died inside before. Nonetheless, Kinoki's creator once performed a major heist on the Divine.

It is a huge shining orb, surrounded by twisting metal which anchors it to the center of a series of poles; the poles form the shape of a pyramid if its edges kept extending into space. The specific visual reference is Ovoplex v1.1 by Lance Skelly. From afar (which is as close as most people ever get to it) it looks like a star.

In "Stealing the Throne" it was robbed by Kinoki, Omi, Robet Shpache, and Fingers Crossed, who turned over crucial information to Millennium Break, to the surprise of the Curtain.
