The Fabreal Duchy is a duchy on Palisade descended from the Crown of Glass and ruled by a noble class that is "living in luxury in a ruined world". The Duke of Glass, Perpetual Lustre, has traditionally ruled the Duchy. When the Curtain arrived on Palisade the Duke of Glass refused to cede power and fled to the desert outskirts of his territory, while the other nobles schemed against him and allied themselves with the invaders.
The Duchy enslaves Delegates, who are viewed as the lowest of the low. There is also a human servant and peasant class that is held in slightly higher regard than Delegates.
Glass Nobles[edit | edit source]
Nobles of the Fabreal Duchy have glass bodies filled with the oil of Unction, which contains their consciousness. The glass of their bodies is able to shift and reform to some degree. With age, the glass is stained by the oil, taking on color. They use stained glass heavily in their architecture, and model their castles and towns after Arthurian legends more than actual medieval history.
