When they uncover this technology, the mayor calls in Millennium Break to assist with getting them off planet, as they fear the Pact will make off with their discoveries. This is not unfounded, as the Pact retaliates before help arrives, kidnapping a trio of Strati and stealing some of the uncovered materials. Several Ashen are able to help rescue the kidnapped people, and all residents of the town are able to use their reclaimed technology to escape off world on the newly rethreaded Strand.
