Barricade is a Axiom turned Divine first found in the middle of the Q-Glass storm on Gift-3. In becoming a Divine, Barricade was joined, both body and mind, with Massalia's faux-Divine Melodica.

Barricade protected itself with miles of growing and changing walls made of crystalline coral. It also took over mechanical structures such as ships or mechs with the coral, or even launched weapons from its walls. It seems to have been guarding Polyphony at its center.[1][2]
Divine[edit | edit source]
Barricade's coral-like structure encases and permeates Melodica's frame like armor. They have a humanoid figure with big boxy shoulders, coated with constantly growing coral.[3]

At some point between the events of Twilight Mirage and those of PALISADE, Barricade left the Mirage and went to Chimera's Lantern to die. It is implied that Barricade was enlisted or forced into service for the Divine Principality and that death was the route they chose to escape that. The Chimeric Cadent wards their body and those of other Divines who have come to the moon to die, preventing them from being forced back into service.[4]
Specifically, within Chimera's Lantern, Barricade's body is at rest in a mausoleum called Barricade's Rib. Barricade's Rib is a dark place lined with bright purple and blue coral that is soft to the touch. When Thisbe enters Barricade's Rib, she feels lonely but also senses a real presence, similar to one that might be found in "the depths of a forest" or "underwater in a coral forest". The coral has also somehow eroded a rifle that was dropped and left behind by a Nidean soldier.[5]
