Zig'ell Barbos, also known as Xiphion or the Red Roc, is the elect of the Divine Valour and a rising star in the Apostolosian military.
Zig’ell is a transgender man. Zig kept zig’s Apostolosian name and pronouns in personal use even after being chosen by Valour as its elect, which is unusual.
He is famed for his talent as a pilot and commander. There is good reason for this: zig spent years serving as Cas'alear Rizah's confidant and lieutenant in the Swordbreakers, before being promoted and transferred into service directly under the Divine Motion, working closely as the elect Laurel’s right hand. A true believer in the Pact’s mission to split the Principality up.[1]
During the early days of the war, he once met Kalar Anakalar while delivering aid to Obelle on behalf of the Swordbreakers.

Zig looks like Dev Patel with anime red highlights. He has red scales on his neck and chest and running down the sides of his body and arms.[2]
