Strand Semaphore is a messenger service able to send text-based communications anywhere, so long as they’ve built an outpost there. It was developed using appropriated Hyphan technology. Strand Semaphore is initially localized to Partizan, can only be used at the equivalent of LAN cafes, and resembles AIM.
Strand Semaphore later becomes the backbone of the private comms network used by Millennium Break and developed by Si'dra, Broun and Milli. In this form, it provides mobile texting and simple bulletin board forums. After Millennium Break expands, Strand Semaphore goes with them and spreads across the galaxy. Its establishment on Palisade is the subject of Wagon Wheel.
