Marrowcreek

From fattwiki

Quite a ways west of Blackwick, the maps say there is a town called Marrowcreek. Never been myself, but I’ve heard about it (often in the sort of hypotheticals people pose to you to “make conversations” at parties.)

Marrowcreek is a small town to the west of the mountain range that bifurcates the heartland. It is also the name of the small waterway by the same town.

Hypothetical existence[edit | edit source]

Marrowcreek is invoked by the Glim Macula interviewers in Episode 21, who entreat various visitors to Sapodilla to imagine strange situations at the train station, open-air stage, theater, well, and fountain of a strange desolate town.

Concrete existence[edit | edit source]

In Episode 34, the Jade Moon somehow ends up on the river of Marrowcreek instead of the Ojan, despite these being in completely different places.

In fact, the ship had arrived at a mirage town created by the heartland. For more information on this location, see The moon-touched woods. Marrowcreek may also be a real town, but as they had never in fact left their original course, its true location is far to the west.

Name origins[edit | edit source]

Marrowcreek is named after the marrows grown in the field to the east of the town, says Reuben.

Marrowcreek is named after the Doctor Mallow who works at its clinic, says Zofina.

Marrowcreek is named for the sweet delicious bone marrow harvested at its slaughterhouse, says Delian.
