Crysanth Kesh is Clementine Kesh's mother. She is the third in line to the throne of Kesh and the highest ranking official -- the Gabardine of Divinity -- in the Curtain (the organization behind the throne). Unlike her daughter, she has no interest in taking the position of Princept.

As a parent she made her daughter "terrified" of her^[1] at the same time that she instilled in her the utilitarian mindset to "never let someone you give something to feel like they’ve earned it".^[2]

Appearance

Crysanth is described as tall and angular. She bears resemblance to Clementine, having similar features to her daughter. She dresses in classic formal wear, in line with Kesh fashion sense.^[3]

Personality

She is highly diplomatic and competent in political affairs. Crysanth is very transactional and she does not show sentimentality towards others without purpose. Unwilling to let her guard down, she always positions herself to appear in control. She is especially dismissive of her daughter Clementine, who she she sees as incompetent and akin to a failed investment.^[4] She is willing to kill to achieve her goals, directly or indirectly.
