Crysanth Kesh is Clementine Kesh's mother. She is the third in line to the throne of Kesh and the highest ranking official -- the Gabardine of Divinity -- in the Curtain (the organisation behind the throne). Unlike her daughter, she has no interest in taking the position of Princept.
As a parent she made her daughter "terrified" of her[1] at the same time that she instilled in her the utilitarian mindset to "never let someone you give something to feel like they’ve earned it".[2]
