The Solarch is the head of the Creed of Samothes. They are first mentioned in Winter in Hieron, directing Ephrim to replace Alyosha in Rosemerrow. The Cult of the Dark Sun also reference following the orders of the Solarch.

The Solarch is in fact working for Dark Sun Samothes, and has been since the time of the Erasure. He was once Snitch Nightly, but when he entered the service of the second Samothes, he was placed in a suit of armor adapted from the gauntlet that once imprisoned Maelgwyn. Since then, he has been carrying out the will of Samothes and created the Creed accordingly.
