Palisade is a planet on the outskirts of the Twilight Mirage, bordering space controlled by Stel Nideo. Outside its atmosphere, it appears to be purple (or sometimes green, orange, or blue), which is not the case when on-planet. It has been used as a staging ground for many groups trying to gain entry into the Twilight Mirage, from the Rapid Evening, the New Earth Hegemony, Advent, and most recently the Pact of Necessary Venture and The Curtain. This has left it with many overgrown facilities and abandoned temples or statuary gardens left behind from previous invasions.

Regions

Bontive Valley

The Bontive Valley is a foggy river valley surrounded by high cliffs. The people of the Bontive Valley were once a part of the Divine Free States, but chose to say on Palisade as the Free States became the Divine Principality. They are isolated from much of the rest of the planet, and have been watched over by Bounty.

When the Curtain arrived on Palisade the Bonitve Valley was pillaged for supplies, leaving Curtain agents to keep an eye on the settlements afterwards.

Known Settlements

Shale Belt

The Shale Belt is a high-elevation scrubland with plateaus. The people of the Shale Belt are descended from the people of Concrete Town, and must be close to their special concrete to breathe well. These Concretists, and many outlying settlements, have worked this concrete into their structures, sidewalks, and bodies. They are a largely secular society.

Known Settlements

Faberge Duchy

The Faberge Duchy is a desert and home to the Duke of Glass, the nominal ruler of Palisade left in charge by the departing Divine Free States. They are descended from the people of the Crown of Glass, and many of the nobility are made out of glass themselves, fueled by the imprisoned divine Unction. Their courts are filled with the enslaved delegates, who are slivers of Divines.

When the Curtain arrived on Palisade the Duke of Glass, Perpetual Lustre, refused to cede power and fled to the outskirts of his territory as the other nobility schemed against him and allied themselves with the invaders.
