The Cause is a group of allied organizations secretly working to oppose the Principality invasion and occupation of Palisade.
The Millennium Break side of the Cause is commanded by Gucci Garantine. Each of the factions is named after a color and a water feature according to Gucci's whims.
Factions
Blue Channel
The faction composed of the Blue Channel's crew. Supported by some Twill people.
Jade Kill
A military faction, based in Joyous Guard, that "opposes with direct assaults and force". Jade Kill is led by August Righteousness and his Delegate liberation group, Reunion. It is supported by Kalar Anakalar's Giantkillers and a wing of Swordbreakers.
Violet Cove

This faction contains not only Véronique, Fealty, and their supporters, but also an NEH Sleep Detachment squad from over 5,000 years ago. Lonny and T from the Twilight Mirage "godspeed, glory" episode descriptions are members. Rose River is melancholy and dreamlike, hoping for "a day when they can be something other than soldiers."
