Elle Evensong is a Devotee soldier, an apparent BIS spy in Violet Cove, and Coriolis Sunset's rival.

Appearance

Elle has long, wavy lilac hair, light brown skin, and a scar across her throat taken during early combat on Palisade.

Personality

Elle is "a cunning combatant and clever commander."[1]

History and Involvement

She is around four or five years older than Coriolis. Elle was among the first wave of Devotees who arrived on Palisade. She quickly made a name for herself as a commander and became a versatile poster child: for people from the Twilight Mirage she represented their support on Palisade, and for the Dim Liturgy she represented "a prophesied bridge between the past and the future."[1] However, she went missing after being seriously wounded as the war started up in earnest.

When Coriolis Sunset accidentally kills her father, Griesel Sunset, Elle protects and tries to reassure her. Coriolis blames his death on Elle.

Their name appears on spies.txt, the list of BIS spies generated by Asepsis. As a courtesy to Elle for having fought alongside the crew of the Blue Channel, Thisbe politely asks if they would let the Blue Channel detain them rather than apprehending them outright. Elle agrees on the condition that she is not put in restraints in public, but she seems strangely comfortable with being brought on board the ship,[2] and she is not in custody for long: Mustard Red vouches for her status as a double agent and orders her release.[3]

Mech

Elle pilots the Cataphract, which gains power by drawing on the blood of others.
