The New Old Museum is a major cultural institution and tourist attraction in the Westshore-upon-Sea district of Rosemerrow. The museum stands as a testament to traditional halfling culture as understood by Rosemerrow's affluent halfling elite in general and promoted by Westshore-upon-Sea mayor Lenny Lenova in particular. The museum displays alleged art objects of alleged halfling provenance in an ad hoc fashion, clearly meant more to awe visitors with the sheer preponderance of objects on display than to meaningfully communicate anything about them.
Structure[edit | edit source]
Its structure is a massive dome, made of glass at the top. The dome and the incorporation of glass are both typical of halfling architecture, but the size of the dome and the extent of the glass are both novel.
Collection[edit | edit source]
Most of the halfling artifacts on display in the New Old Museum are fabrications, made with illusion magic by Isaac Adelton on behalf of Lenova for the latter's grand opening of the Ledman Adelbury McGillicuddy Johnson Johansen Maestro Abelton Alexander Quinton Carver Mason Brubaker Seagram Lenova wing of The New Old Museum. The particular spell used by Adelton induces those viewing the illusion to see the object according to what they expect to see. This facet of the spell caused a group of gnolls led by Mother Glory and Chatterchin to perceive the false artifacts as stolen gnoll artifacts, which they demanded be returned to them under threat of violence.
Old Museum[edit | edit source]
The New Old Museum is a new addition to the old Old Museum, which is a more traditionally arranged museum interested in exploring halfling history, albeit through the lens of high culture. Located in this main section is the museum's vault, which contains various valuables including the First Contract of Rosemerrow. Within the vault is also the hidden entrance of an underground passage leading down from the museum to the Meeting House in a different version of Rosemerrow.
