This entire article contains major spoilers for PARTIZAN 31: The Grand Premiere. Tread carefully!

Laurel is the Elect of the Divine Motion,[1] a member of GLORY, and a clone of the Apostolosian Eidolon Cassander.

Appearance and Personality

Laurel is similar in both appearance and superficial personality to their clone progenitor Cassander Timaeus Berenice. They have weary eyes, a thin and wiry frame, and a "kind of Mediterranean" skintone. Their hair is like Yu Narukami's from Persona (short, with long bangs), greenish-black in color.[1]

They are intuitive, attentive and authoritative,[2] and they love it when a plan comes together.[1]

History and Involvement

Laurel is a member of GLORY and a former classmate of Ver'million Blue. Prior to receiving their Elect name, Laurel went by “Cassander”.[2]

Attack on High Altar

As mission commander for GLORY, Laurel coordinates a sneak attack on the Millennium Break agents stationed at High Altar. They break into the Stray Dog while it is left unattended, emerging upon Milli's return and badly wounding her.[2] Laurel uses the Demiurgos to great effect against the Millennium Break squad, culminating in them taking out the majority of their troop units and badly wounding Cas'alear Rizah after Kal'mera Broun deploys Asepsis.[3] Phrygian and other Millennium Break agents ultimately force Laurel to retreat. As Motion shows them her vision for the future, Laurel and the other agents realize just how far Motion is beyond them as they vanish into the Perennial Wave.[3]

During Operation Shackled Sun, Motion and Laurel are charged with energy of the True Divine, with the Demiurgos already infused with many of the pieces of the Exemplar captured by the Pact. They cause wanton destruction in the space above Partizan until they are defeated by Broun’s use of Asepsis to break down the energy and the body of Motion herself. At that time Milli is connected with the True Divine, and she feels Laurel dying.[4]

Mech

Laurel pilots the Demiurgos or Demiurge. It is a Pneuma model which has been modified using cutting edge research and materials, including recovered parts of the supposed “exemplar,” Branched materials, stabilized Perennial Wave particles, and, of course, Motion’s own divine power. The Demiurgos is seen both creating and destroying things using the Perennial Wave, both keeping their allies in action and being used offensively on their foes.[3]
