Clementine Kesh

From fattwiki
(Redirected from Clementine)

Her war with her mother has everything to do with her ability to be a better person.

Clementine Kesh, later known simply as Clementine, is a Kesh princess and the leader of a Kesh-sponsored unit known as The Rapid Evening. Her playbook is the Officer. She is 23 at the start of PARTIZAN.[note 1]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

She is 6'1" tall[1] and looks a lot like Cara Delevingne. She's striking, and her outfits look very architectural, but also fussy. At one point she wears a dress that looks like this one from Alexander McQueen. She likes elaborate earrings and headwear. Her looks are calculated, reflecting her backstory as someone with military responsibilities, but also the fact that she's rich.

While on Icebreaker Prime, Clem wore the third outfit here.

Personality[edit | edit source]

God's greatest mistake and a very special girl.

Clem's assurance in her superiority is unshakable, except by her mother. She goes about her life metaphorically tripping into holes and pretending it was her plan all along, which no one believes.

Drive[edit | edit source]

  • Rule Stel Kesh.

History and Involvement[edit | edit source]

Clementine was sixth in line to the throne of Stel Kesh. She has lived in palaces for her entire life, and spent her time playing typical rich people sports. She was sent to Partizan by her mother as a sort of pilgrimage or religious leave when she was 23. Her appointment as a squad leader on Partizan meant she was removed from the line of succession.

After Millennium Break seizes Cruciat, Clem and Gur Sevraq have an argument atop Fort Icebreaker that culminates in both of them attacking each other and falling off the deck into the sea below.[3] Clem survives the fall thanks to Perennial and becomes the Witch in Glass. Gur does not to survive, and their ghost haunts her.[4]

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Gucci Garantine[edit | edit source]

Gur Sevraq[edit | edit source]

The Blossom[edit | edit source]

Clem is "tantalized" by the Blossom, who thinks of her as his protégé.[5]

Beliefs[edit | edit source]

  • When Sovereign Immunity's loyalty to my family was tested, he failed. He is not to be trusted.
  • Sovereign Immunity wants me to succeed so that he can get out of prison.
  • Million may prove an effective bodyguard.
  • Leap is a loose cannon. I will make him a useful one.
  • Gucci Garantine is hiding something.

Bond (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]

  • United, Gucci and I could be a powerful force for Kesh, with me at its head. Her misplaced egalitarianism, however, is a problem.

Abilities[edit | edit source]

Clementine has certain abilities thanks to her status as the officer of her squad.

  • Tactical Genius: Clementine can assist a teammate stress-free twice per mission due to prior preparation.
  • Leader: When Clementine commands a cohort in combat, they continue to fight when they would otherwise break. When she leads a group action it is more effective.
  • Rally: Clementine may direct an unaffiliated person to perform an action or commit violence, or prevent them from causing damage.
  • Heart to Heart: When Clementine makes the weight of an arrangement clear to her opposite and both agree to terms - surrender, cease fire, prisoner exchange, etc - they are all emotionally invested in the deal.

Mech[edit | edit source]

Clem's mech is the Panther, an ancient mech once piloted by Jace Rethal that was probably rebuilt many times over the millennia. It's large, black and humanoid. It has large, fin-like wings, and a beaked head.

Quirks:

  • Rare Components
  • Low Latency Operating System
  • Highly Sensitive Safety Suite
  • Distinctive Silhouette.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Jack has stated that Anya Taylor-Joy would be their choice to play Clem.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. While Jack explicitly stated she's 23 and was born in 1400, the Divine Principality calendar is weird. If she was really born in 1400, her age would convert to around 32 in Gregorian years. Austin said that generally any ages or amounts of time stated by the cast are using the Gregorian calendar, but Jack was pretty specific there, so who knows.
