- The Kingdom will be used as a pawn in larger conflicts.
Issue (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]
- He knows that this assignment is a well-calculated suicide mission, meant to get rid of him, his troublesome crew, an Apostolosian heir, and a powerful divine.
History and Involvement[edit | edit source]
Golden War[edit | edit source]
Orth was an OriCon pilot during the Golden War. He was originally part of the Queen's Gambit before before being promoted. In the final move against the Apostolosian Empire, he served as captain of the Kingdom Come and commanded OriCon's fleet.
Counterweight[edit | edit source]
On Counterweight, Orth worked for the CCT, trying to keep peace between major planetary powers, while also maintaining it's sovereignty in a vast political landscape. Orth employs fixers on behalf of the CCT, serving as a main contact for The Chime's missions. Before the events of the season, he gives AuDy the Kingdom Come. He hires them to investigate the destruction of the Blue Sky Domes, which he fears was a play by OriCon or the Diaspora against the other. Later, he tries to alleviate the food crisis on Counterweight, but is kidnapped by Sister Rust and the Iron Choir, activating an emergency call that The Chime receives.
After the Chime attracts Ibex's attention, Orth warns them of the danger they're in. He has them live through reconstructions of Jace's memories, and helps them flee Counterweight before Ibex finds them. He flies with them to September, where they initially hope to arm themselves against Righteousness.
Post-September
Four years after the events on September, Orth became Chief Emergency Executive of the new OriCon Expeditionary Group. In his new position, he reforms OriCon's megacorperations and stymies the Steiger sisters. During this time, Mako gives Orth Ambition, which fuels his drive to end Rigour. He also rescues AuDy from September while fighting the first wave of new Rigor models.
In the battle against Rigour, Orth conscripts as many people as he can from OriCon. He himself pilots a Rook against its forces. He's considered a hero in the aftermath, and goes on to negotiate with the Free States of Gemm, and serve as a positive influence on OriCon. He enjoys the rest of his days in Centralia, traveling in his spare time. He writes two books, a poorly sold memoir of his life, and a best seller biography for Attar Rose.
Relationships[edit | edit source]
Bonds (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]
- Tea used to be your commanding officer before you rapidly ascended the ranks.
- Natalya doubts your capability to handle the ship that she designed.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Orth is canonically asexual[5]
- When working at Consolidated Counterweight Technocracy, he kept a small model of the Rook he piloted during the war on his desk.
