Concretetown Particulars

The Concretetown Particulars are a paramilitary, militia-like group formed by New Earth Hegemony citizens who wanted to fight back against the 'weirdness' of the Mirage. They specialize in destroying Axioms, Divines, and other things which defy human understanding, primarily through use of a substance known as Q-concrete.

Members of the Particulars often carry Q-concrete batons or bats.[1] When they're not near structures made of Q-concrete, most members are only able to breathe using a special apparatus that injects concentrated amounts of the Mirage into the air they inhale. This is because of a mistake the NEH made when it first started expanding Q-concrete to areas outside of Concretetown. The details of this mistake are unknown, other than that it messed with citizens' respiratory systems.[2]

History and Involvement[edit | edit source]

The Concretetown Particulars formed on Moonlock in the 5th Expansionary Hard Materials Settlement, known colloquially as Concretetown. After the NEH divested from Moonlock, the Particulars bought a bunch of loans for land use from the NEH and used them to gain power on the planet, changing the terms of the loans so that, for example, they could easily repossess a plot of land if the debtor missed even a single payment. They do a lot of this, because they want to pave over the entire planet with Q-concrete[3] to keep it locked-down and safe.[4]

They also on other planets in the Quire system, including Gift-3, and specifically hope for Seiche to be their first foothold in the Divine Free States.[1]

Following deals brokered by members of the Notion, the Particulars joined with Advent Discovery and Salvage Society, the Volunteers of Seiche, and others to form the Advent Group.

Over the five thousand years following the events of Twilight Mirage, the descendants of the Particulars become the Concretists of Palisade's Shale Belt.[5]
