Morbash is a talented but somewhat unsavory Archivist-Collector who works in retrieval for the New Archives.
History
As a senior member among the Collectors, Morbash is a well-known public figure at the New Archives. During Lem King's time at the Archives he attended one of Morbash’s talks, and despite disagreeing with the subject matter he was starstruck and excited to see the talk. According to Lem, the Archive has a substantial collection of political essays debating the morality of Archivist-Collector practices, and a sizable portion of these deal specifically with Morbash’s doings.
When Lem fled the New Archives with a stolen violin, Morbash was assigned to pursue him and recover the instrument. More recently, Morbash extended an olive branch at the start of season three by offering clemency on the condition that Lem return the fiddle, retrieve several volumes of a gnoll dictionary from the New Old Museum, and care for a Velasian thyme plant. He is a traditionalist, opposed to attempts to trick the pattern using illusion magic.
Morbash was the de facto leader of many of the orcs who evacuated from the New Archives after the events at the end of Winter in Hieron and joined with Throndir, Ephrim and others to reestablish a settlement in the Last University. Morbash died during the difficult early years, as depicted through Do Not Let Us Die In The Dark Night Of This Cold Winter. He is buried in the university's graveyard.
