Sokrates Nikon Artemisios or Sokrates is a prince of Apostolos, the second child of House Pelagios. Their Eidolon (at least during the Kingdom game) is Apole.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Wish (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]

  • The Kingdom will become a symbol of unity for the entire sector.

Fear (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]

  • The Kingdom won't become a symbol of unity for the entire sector.[1]

Issue (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]

  • They are secretly from the ruling family of Apostolos.

History and Involvement[edit | edit source]

During the Golden War, Sokrates fled Apostolos with knowledge of the superweapon, defecting from a project to build shield generators. They led the rebel ship the Callisto as part of the Kingdom.

After the war, they possibly live as a farmer on Torru for a time. However, they eventually make their way to Slighter, where they slowly take over the Ethnologistical Committee for a More Prosperous Golden Branch and become the candidate of Integrity. They subsequently throw a coup of the Apostolosian Empire, and form the Golden Demarchy with themself as the Demarch.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Bonds (Kingdom)[edit | edit source]

  • Sokrates senses that Natalya is good and noble.
  • Addax knows that Sokrates is a member of the Pelagios family.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • All of Sokrates's names are taken from Ancient Greek:
    • Sokrates is the name of an Ancient Greek philosopher.
    • Nikon is probably from the word for "victory", and the name of a few Byzantine and Russian Orthodox religious figures.
    • Artemisios is an Ancient Macedonian month, named for the goddess Artemis.
    • Pelagios is a name meaning "of the sea".
  • Enhydra is a mustelid genus which primarily contains the sea otter.

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

  1. When Apostolosians were created in the COUNTER/Weight worldbuilding episode, their society's gender system was binary by default. The Apostolosian gender and pronoun system was invented and elaborated as play continued, and because of this after-the-fact retcon, Apostolosian characters during COUNTER/Weight are often referred to with binary pronouns. In later seasons, Apostolosians are more consistently referred to with "they" pronouns (unless they specifically choose to use others), and it has become standard practice both by cast and fandom to apply these pronouns to COUNTER/Weight-era Apostolosians as well, even if those pronouns weren't consistently used at time of production.
