Flanger Johannes is a member of Advent Discovery and Salvage Society. They are a slime/blob, and speak with a high pitched voice. They were part of the group who questioned Grand Magnificent and Ballad Reverie on the Catapult, asking about how attacking either the Rapid Evening or Volition would best benefit the "underprivileged" of Advent.[1]

After the death of Kitcha Kana at the hands of Grand Magnificent's mech bomb, Flanger became the head of Advent in the Mirage. Flanger only narrowly survived the explosion, as Kana had sent him out of the room earlier in order to fetch some rocks from the nearby asteroid belt of the Shore.
