Diego has a warm appearance and detached temperment. Warm meaning both his smile and style of dress—he commonly wears coats even while indoors. He is facecast as Jharrel Jerome, particularly in his Fall 2019 GQ spread.

Family[edit | edit source]
The Flint family’s wealth has been declining for generations, stabilized only temporarily by Diego’s grandmother purchasing a post as a military officer. Military service has continued through the generations, but their estate has fallen into disrepair. A fortuitous marriage remains their only hope of maintaining their position in society.
While Diego once thought their problems solved with his engagement to Honor Sameday, Honor’s disappearance has again put the Flints in dire straits. Diego hopes to secure the means to renovate the Flint estate before his parents return from their deployment at a distant fort. His desire during the holiday season is to come into wealth, while keeping his reputation pristine.

Diego’s reputation begins as steadfast, but aloof. During the events of Good Society, he becomes a welcome guest in any household due to his successful expeditions into the mountain wilderness with the Flint Regulars. However, he forgoes the hospitality of family friend, Darling, who disapproves of his military endeavors.
Relationships[edit | edit source]
Mint Charlise is Diego’s rival. He resents her familiarty with the Marchmont wilderness, where his fiance disappeared, and for distracting his prospective business partner, James.
Henrietta Sameday is Diego’s former friend. They had a falling out after she encouraged her brother to risk an expedition into the mountains, from which he never returned.
Honor Sameday is Diego’s beloved fiance who disappeared in the mountain wilderness before they could be married.
Darling is a family friend of the Flints and Diego’s host in Nievelmarch.
James is a prospective business partner of Diego’s, who shares his interest in expanding into the wilderness and hopes to secure military protection in order to do so.
