Appendal B. Maxim was a journalist in the Principality of Kesh. He wrote an article about the First Day of Guaranteed Events, in which he wrote about the experiences of the 'Gleamers'--also known as Janitors, the individuals whose job it was to filter the data which Crystal Palace provided, in order to provide actionable predictions. This piece became well known in the Principality, but was, after Appendal's death, revealed to be a complete fabrication.[1]
