Hazard is a player character in Sangfielle. Their class is the Incarnadine.

Hazard is a member of the Caravan of the Coin. They are on a mission to exact revenge on someone, though the circumstances behind this are not yet clear to the audience – or to Hazard themself.

Appearance

They are a devil around five feet tall. They wear a wooden mask described as similar to the Happy mask from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, covering their whole face, with only their horns poking out beneath the hood.[1]This makes mealtimes awkward. [2] The mask has an indentation, like a puppet mouth, with a ribbon representing a tongue for them to keep un-changing items on[3]; the fact that Ribbadon recognizes this may imply that Hazard does not have an actual mouth.

Personality

Beats

  • Enlist someone in your plot for your revenge. (minor, current)
  • Find evidence of your target's whereabouts. (minor, completed Episode 34.)
  • Destroy the personal property of your target in spite. (minor, current)

History & Involvement

Hazard states that the Count of Cards took everything from them[4]. This includes a number of memories, including the majority of details about his identity and their own. What seems clear is that over the course of one long, hazy night, Hazard sunk everything they owned into betting on a series of games of False War with Uno Riscano, and then making further bets to recoup their losses. Finally, hoping to win everything back, they wagered the silver coin that they carried in their mouth. When they lost this round, Uno correctly judged that they would not be willing to give up the coin, and stabbed them.

Hazard has a six-suit deck of cards which they use, similar in style to the work of Micah Ulrich. The Count of Cards in this deck has a kiss mark burned into it.

This was revealed to be "Mirage": The next landmark you reach is a facsimile made by the Heart, arranged to give you what you want. It seems real, but the more you explore, the more obvious it is that everything – the streets, the books, the people – is fake. It’s an artful copy made out of meat, bone and blood. From the looks of things, it’s existed for hundreds of years. Once you realize that the landmark is fake, remove this fallout.
