Detective Max Lam (Eddy Changkul) is the former partner of Sargent Janis Stone and current partner of Detective Sebastian Young. He and Janis are friendly with each other, having known each other for many years, while he is more of a begrudging mentor to Sebastian.
He is around 28 years old and described as looking scruffy, overworked, with dark rings under his eyes “in the way where there’s going to be gifs of it on tumblr”.
