The Quire System or the Nine Idylls is the name given to the system of eight planets formed during The Miracle by the sentient planet Quire, together with the sentient planet Volition and the encompassing asteroid belt. Current home to the Divine Free States, and a growing number of New Earth Hegemony colonists, as well as the Qui Err Assembly.
