Doyle MacKaye is a worker at “The” Scuba Shop and a boxer in the underground boxing scene of Bluff City.
He had been involved in boxing since he was a child, although it remained a side gig to his actual income. Doyle had initially wanted to work at a garage as a mechanic but after work as a mechanic proved too difficult to find, he took a job at “The” Scuba Shop with Finnegan Hands.
Despite not being able to swim, he did enjoy this work and especially enjoyed working with Finnegan, whom he considered to be his mentor. He also continued in boxing during this time, where his entrance music was ‘Only The Good Die Young’ by Billy Joel. His trainer during this time was Tawny Buck.
It was this connection to Finnegan that led to him being pulled into the orbit of Sonny Veranda, and agreeing to fight Achilles Apollo as part of Sonny’s plan to trick both the Whitaker and Veranda families out of their money. Although Doyle did assist with this plan, he was not charged for his role in the crime.
After this and Finnegan’s subsequent disappearance, he became the owner of “The” Scuba Shop. He would go on to have two kids, Lily and Finn, and three dogs, Daisy-Bird, Grover, and another unnamed dog.
At the time of his first appearance, he was 31 or 32 years old and is described as being built like "a younger Vincent D'onofrio". He is 6 feet, 6 inches tall.
