Bartholomew “Dr Bart” Jimmy Asher is a physical therapist turned talk show guest on ‘I’m AM, R U?’. After the events of The Moving Pictures, he left this to open his own private practise.
While in college, he briefly played for his small private liberal arts college’s football team as a quarterback. However, Bart suffered a life-threatening lower-compound fracture during football practise, an injury that would go on to shape the rest of his life. While doing the extensive physical therapy his injury required, he was inspired to become a physical therapist. Despite his injury still giving him trouble, he maintain “great cardio”.
Prior to the strikes at Bluff City Studios, his guest spot on ‘I’m AM, R U?’ was only once per week. However, as the writer’s strike dragged on and the show searched for things to fill time, he was brought on to do a daily segment for the 9:30am spot. Due in part to the need to fill time, he recently promoted a homoeopathic product that he had not researched/vetted as thoroughly as he ordinarily would have, and received mail from a viewer that informed him that their (the person sending the letter) mother had died as a result of taking the homeopathic product over medication.
He currently uses the dressing room that is normally the rotating guest’s dressing room when at the Studios. His segments on the show are described as being a similar vibe to a ‘Dr Oz’ type show.
He takes the company bus to work, preferring to relax and listen to NPR style podcasts rather than having to deal with the stress of driving.
His family background is Catholic, with one of his parents being from India.
Bart is in his mid to late 40s, and when seen in The Moving Pictures is dressed in salmon khaki pants, oxblood shoes, and a shirt rolled up at the cuffs with a different pattern on the inside of the cuffs than on the shirt.
