Orth Godlove is the main character of COUNTER/Weight and a mid-level bureaucrat in the Consolidated Counterweight Technocracy. He is a retired soldier and ace pilot, formerly of the Queen's Gambit.

Orth is a black man. His initial facecast is Dennis Haysbert in 24,[1] followed quickly by Laurence Fishburne in Hannibal.[2] He is neat but weary.[1]
