“
You’ve seen them, haven’t you? The unsettlingly gregarious priests with the strange, chitinous crow masks? Of course you have, with their stilt-legs and their stilt-houses and their collection of stakes and strings and, of course, the kites. I asked one once if it was a pun: Kite and Crow, chitin crow. Something like that. The priestess told me that Kaitankro was a very real god, if a funny one, and that one day, he visited her. Like every morning, she raised each of the town’s kites up to the winds in daily worship, and Kaitankro landed on the smallest one — a sight to see, she said, since her god is so large a being. And like a carnivalist, Kaitankro walked down the wire, tips of her talons, until he met the priest at the bottom. There, I was told, they whispered in the priest’s ear a single phrase: “Better to live as birds on wires than die as men in the wind.” Chaos, it seems, breeds community, too. (Editor’s note: If these gods are so compelled to grow, grow, grow, why the hell does this ‘bird’ god seem so happy to just bounce from place to place? Isn’t anything in Sangfielle predictable?)”
Kaitankro, aka Chitin crow aka Kite and Crow etc., is a strange trickster crow(?) god worshiped by the Covenant of Kaitankro.
He can be a jerk at times, but is also funny and malleable. There is not one set spelling of their name or appearance of the god, and you can't get a straight answer from followers of the religion about those details.
Appearance
Kaitankro's appearance is highly variable, with many forms.
Religion and background
At least once, Kaitankro visited the Caravan of the Coin, who had found their silver coin. It told such a funny joke that the priest carrying the coin in his mouth laughed so hard he lost it.[1]
Passage on the Jade Moon
Kaitankro was lounging around in the town of Cantbank, where it is implied they often reside and have historically protected, and took an interest in Marn, who was buying cursed items. It appeared in the form of a large cat with shiny, plated skin instead of fur, and eyes like a bird's. Es, Chine, and Hazard attempted to tail the cat, who struck up conversation. He had not seen the Jade Moon in quite some time, and advised Hazard that the Count of Cards "took more from you than you know", and would likely be visiting the west of Sangfielle. Kaitankro then treated the four (and their companion) to lunch at an excellent local restaurant, lying on the floor to eavesdrop on their conversation.[2]

Trivia
Her appearance as a big cat, with associations to birds, may be a reference to Panthers from other seasons of Friends at the Table. It is unknown whether any of her forms can split into multiple smaller autonomous parts.
