After a meteor crashed into the ocean of Bluff City, it attracted eels towards it in great numbers until they had knotted together to form an eel king.
This eel king was raised from the ocean by an eel cult who had taken over the abandoned Saltwater Pier. Although they had been active in Bluff City for many years, this was their first large action as a collective.
The eel king caused chaos along the Boardwalk and endangered Hector Hu. The Champ punched the ferris wheel on the Pier into the eel king, splitting it apart. The eels then shot into the air, and the meteor that they had gathered around scattered over Bluff City, creating a bunch of new superpowered people.
During this fight, the members of the cult escaped, although it was noted that they had horseshoe crab faces.
