“The meanest bird in Bluff City.”

Rupert is an evil, angry bird. He was given his name by Doyle MacKaye.

He is a rare Andian Cock of the Rock/MotMot cross breed, with red-orange feathers and sharp talons (“mostly claws and a beak”). He is also “much, much bigger than [you] thought it was going to be" (around the size of a large eagle).

He was previously owned by the Veranda family patriarch, but escaped during the events of A Bowling Alley, A Boxer, and A Bird. Since that time, Rupert has caused destruction and chaos across Bluff City. When seen in When Justice Is Done, he is seen sporting a tone-on-tone striped neckscarf and helped Grouse by attacking Sonny Veranda.

When seen in Extracurricular: Out Of Time, Rupert has leash with a long chain attached to a jeweled collar. When he was unable to aid in battle he expressed regret to Grouse, meaning that potentially he feels some affection towards Grouse.

His only known weakness is that he cannot swim.

He is yet to be recaptured, and it is unknown if such a thing is even possible.
