Mode City is the largest city on September and the home of the September Institute.

Mode City is surrounded by woods. Its buildings are made out of sandstone and repurposed from the original Apostolosian dwellings, creating a mix of (neo)classical design and Diasporan architecture (with the occasional Oricon building). Some high rises are literally dozens of metal floors built on top of reinforced Apostolosian foundations.

Much of the aura of cleanliness and vibrancy of the city is created by Mesh illusions; it is far more dilapidated, run-down, and lived-in underneath the Mesh.

The main area of the city, to the west, contains the Bacchus Biotech Recreational District, Minerva Strategic offices, and the Public Home for Information and Resources as Dedicated by the People of September, Their Sacrifice Will Not Be Forgotten, First Library. Several hidden paths lead into the woods, to Maryland September's hideout and a bunker used by the Tzadik unit.

The city meets the coast on its eastern side, which is lined with red basalt columns. The September Institute is on the southern part of the coast, while the Slate Mineral Cooperative is on the northern part of the coast.

Bacchus Biotech Recreational District

An outdoor commercial area, surrounding the Pleasure Dome mall. There's plenty of music, dance clubs, coffee shops and overpriced food and drugs to take advantage of September students who want to feel cool.

Lazer Ted works at the Pleasure Dome.

Slate Mineral Cooperative

A workers' cooperative historically linked to Slate, as well as a huge, layered sandstone quarry. Rigour rests beneath the earth.
