The People's Conglomerate of Orion (or OriCon) was a galactic superpower. It had been host to a series of both worker's revolutions and returns to oligarchy and capitalism. It was in a is capitalist phase in the time of COUNTER/Weight, while still using the language of radicalism and freedom.

OriCon citizens received a monthly stipend, which allowed for a low baseline level of support but is meant to be funneled into buying "new toys to support those big corporations".[1]

History

The Orion Conservation Conglomerate were the creators of Rigour, but soon enough all of humanity was under Rigour's thumb instead. Those that remained with Rigour instead of fleeing with the Autonomous Diaspora would eventually become known as OriCon. Rebels from OriCon, the Old Earth Cult, actually aided in the stellar combustor detonation which knocked Rigour away from OriCon and the Diaspora. Afterwards OriCon was able to develop as its own culture, free from Rigour's direct influence.
