Perpetua is the setting of the ninth season of Friends at the Table. It is affected by a cycle in which the world is destroyed and remade many times over. The only beings known to survive the cycle are dragons and the Ennead, a pantheon of nine gods worshiped by many Perpetuans. Worshipers of the Ennead are said to be followers of the Way of Fearless Truth; the Way wields influence across much of Perpetua.

Known Inhabitants[edit | edit source]

Terrapine[edit | edit source]

The Terrapine are a turtle-like people. Mainstream Terrapine culture is strongly invested in collecting information, on the basis that such knowledge might preserve their society across Perpetuan cycles even if no individual member will survive them.

Elves[edit | edit source]

Elves primarily originate in the Elevana League, an alliance of city-states spanning the northern half of Perpetua's eastern continent. Elves are associated with the same nine elements as the Ennead. Each elf is born with a predisposition to one of these elements, based on the time of their birth.

Humans[edit | edit source]

Humans live across Perpetua.

Tesserae[edit | edit source]

Tesserae are a human-like people born of mosaic art. Tesserae have the power to enter and re-emerge from mosaics within dungeons born of the now-fallen Passikan civilization.
