The Strand is a mechanism using colored lights made of smaller spores that delimits and directs the Hypha in future travel. It essentially directs where the Hypha should go next as nomads. The Strand is launched into space and illustrates complicated patterns in the sky in order to direct the fleet. The individual who delivers it into the sky is known as a Thread-Runner.
