Melinda Guppy is a young woman who worked at Gadgets By Guppy on Kingfish Pier in Bluff City in 1899. This stall is owned by her father and sells elaborate beachside inventions. It is a job Melinda deeply hates, and she is always looking for an opportunity to quit.
She is a huge fan of the barrel music (“[the songs] all sound the same but I’ll swear that they don’t”).
She is described as tall and thin, with two tight braids and a scowling expressions. When seen in America's Playground, she is dressed in a simple navy dress with her grey uniform apron over the top of it. She keeps her sleeves rolled up, as her father's most recent inventions, a reverse periscope used for looking underwater, requires her to keep having to put her hands in the water in order to demonstrate it.
