Jorne is the head of sales at Snowtrak Lab Tau who sells Mako and Aria a large number of robots. He looks like the Lab Tau receptionist except 15 years older and a little heavier; in other words, he's a sharply dressed man with his hair combed back.
Mako (as "Drillbot Taylor") and Jorne charm each other and have a wonderful time until the mission goes bad and Mako and Aria get grievously injured. Jorne agrees that Snowtrak will pay the medical fees for Mako, and later visits him in the hospital to make sure that he will, in turn, pay his robot debt.
Jorne then steals Mako and Aria's idea for a casino train on the Starlight Straights. This does well enough that he is able to leave Snowtrak. Mako becomes increasingly incensed that Jorne "tricked" him by selling him robots and taking his idea. Jorne is one of the black marketeers at the gala in "A Splintered Branch, A Ringing Bell Pt. 2", so Mako is particularly happy to steal Zeal from them.
