Apparatus Aperitif is the night mayor of Logos City. Their job is to ensure that any activity that occurs at night -- partying, sex work, shopping, etc. -- goes smoothly. Apparatus is a member of the Mysteries Metronomica, and Perennial grants them the ability to rewind time in very short increments. They are urbane, savvy, and unpredictable.

Apparatus is specifically modeled after a person in a video whose entire body is covered in highly reflective mirror shards, including over their suit, and whose face looks like a stylized mirrored skull, shown here. That is basically exactly what they look like.

Kal'mera Broun and Thisbe meet Aperitif when they visit Logos City to speak with the Church of the Resin Heart. They later join Millennium Break and end up becoming an important member of the council.
