The Devotees are followers of the Cult of Devotion,[Note 1] a cult that has infiltrated the Brink, the Twilight Mirage and Palisade. The Orchard Syndicate is a front organization for them, and on Palisade they work closely with the Dim Liturgy on the Isle of the Broken Key. The Devotees can also be thought of as akin to a multi-level marketing scheme, as they strive to increase their membership to lessen the drain of energy performed by Devotion on its followers.
Their symbol is a shield emblazoned with cuffed-together hands holding each other.
C.T.H. Pasodoble is a leading member on the Brink. Saint Decario Dicario is another powerful member, who started out on the Brink before traveling to Palisade, where he now works with the Dim Liturgy. Cori, her father and the rest of her family are also Devotees.
The Devotees' modus operandi is luring people to meetings through social manipulation, after which the people disappear on 'bonding' camping trips for a while. When they return, they act strangely, disinterested in former friends and family, and sometimes have strange devices on their arms. Members can feel their pulses sync up when they touch, which is how they connect with Devotion. Because of this, Devotees are known to check their pulse at regular intervals, and even use checking their pulse as a salute.
Devotees often use Chariot model mechs.
