Catrina Solstice is the youngest daughter of the Solstice family and lives in Somerset House.
Catrina is very femme and the "princess" of the family. She wears her hair in ringlets. She loves to do taxidermy, with her mother occasionally bringing home new dead things for her to work on.

Catrina's parents are Crevera Solstice and Coughton Solstice, and she has one older sister, Catalina Solstice, and one younger brother, Carvisle Solstice. Her goal is to outshine her siblings, though she rarely leaves the estate. She was once close with her maid Eileen Lilas, but they have grown apart in recent years. The house gardener, Vivian Exler, is her confidant. The night of Exanceaster March's visit to her family, she works on making a good impression on him, and helps her father try and talk him into joining the Bilateral Intercession.

When her father is accidentally shot during the hunt, Catrina is understandably distressed, and even more so when Exler informs her that March's bodyguard has a bomb set to detonate over dinner. After a pep talk from Exler, Catrina does manage to keep her cool, and continues attending to the dinner even through the unexpected arrival of her mother Crevera. When Eileen comes to warn Catrina to leave the house to avoid being caught up in the Millennium Break scheme, Catrina is reluctant to leave, fearing for Eileen's safety, but she is around to it - stealing her mother's mech and using it to go backpacking though sectors of unknown space.
