The Chariot Mk. 1 is a Tier II Altar commonly piloted by Devotees.
It can drain the blood of its pilot to harness Devotion's magic and enhance its abilities.[1] A major flaw in its design is that it drains its pilot of blood too quickly, frequently resulting in the pilot's death. Subsequent models like the Chariot Mk. 2 and the Cataphract employ different strategies to prevent pilots from dying as frequently.[2] Despite this, the Mk. 1 remains in use by Devotee soldiers, such as the squad led by Griesel Sunset in Upon Our Grace.[3]
The Chariot Mk. 1 carries a Morningstar mace or war hammer and a shield.[4][5] Pilots are called Charioteers.[3]
