'''Already''' is a new arrival to the enclave community in post-apocalyptic [[Bluffington Beach]]. Their beloved dog, [[Duke (dog)|Duke]], travels everywhere with them.

== Appearance ==
Already has a tired frame; their shoulders sag as though their body is constantly looking for something to lean on or against. They have short, closely-cropped hair, and a heavy and textured craggy face.

Prior to their arrival in Bluffington Beach, they found their dog Duke (originally named Rocky), a small, angry, muscular french bulldog.
Their clothes include gloves and their old work overalls, which they wear zipped-down and tied around their waist, showing a "Rihanna-style" mesh top they stole from a nightclub. See also: Frankie Already.

Already is a new arrival to the enclave community in post-apocalyptic Bluffington Beach. Their beloved dog, Duke, travels everywhere with them.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Already has a tired frame; their shoulders sag as though their body is constantly looking for something to lean on or against. They have short, closely-cropped hair, and a heavy and textured craggy face.

Their clothes include gloves and their old work overalls, which they wear zipped-down and tied around their waist, showing a "Rihanna-style" mesh top they stole from a nightclub. While the overalls were originally said to be from Already's time working in Bluffington Beach's metro tunnels,[1] in "Give Way to Open Sky" they were described as part of the Potato Potat.to uniform: faded green and purple overalls with a shopping cart on the front and an anthropomorphized potato on the back.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Already is in over their head and trying to both hang onto the things from their old life and prove themself to their new community. They occasionally make obscure TV references ("It doesn't work, Jack!") and can "speak TV", mimicking the cadence of a talk show host or commercial. (Quincy finds the TV speak calming.)[2]

History and Involvement[edit | edit source]

Backstory[edit | edit source]

Already spent some time in the Remnants and got into delivery work that way. For a time they drove an armored grocery truck for the through the enclave each week for the grocery app Potato Potat.to. They no longer have this truck or even know if it still works, but they know its hidden location. They are unwilling to talk about what happened to lead them to abandon their truck, but after they did so, they used the groceries inside the truck to barter their way into becoming part of the enclave.

Through their delivery work, they acquired a cell phone that still gets service from Potato Potat.to. It is visually similar to an iPhone, with a clear plastic case and a solar panel on the back. The battery only charges when the Potato Potat.to app is in use; whenever the phone is used for anything else the battery drains rapidly. The phone also has the capacity to print small red stickers to mark the clock in/out time of the user, or to provide other communication (such as real-time Game Boy-style photos) between users. The case of Already's phone is covered in these small red stickers.

Give Way to Open Sky[edit | edit source]

When they receive a notification on their phone that Potato Potat.to has tracked their location and is on its way to retrieve the phone, truck and compensation for the groceries inside the truck, Already visits the Augur, Providence for advice. The Augur performs a ritual directing Already to go to Jeff Brown Dentistry. They discuss this with Samantha and Robyn, and the four of them decide to go as a group to Jeff Brown Dentistry (and make a stop along the way to aid Quincy). During this trip, the group is pursed by various agents of Potato Potat.to, including Vincent Ketchle.

Together with the Augur, Robyn, Samantha, Quincy and Duke, Already is able to destroy the phone and find a door that—for them—leads back to the enclave.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Duke[edit | edit source]

Prior to their arrival, Already found their dog Duke (originally named Rocky). Duke is a small, angry, muscular french bulldog in "Dream Askew" and a pit bull in "Give Way to Open Sky". She is two and a half but still puppyish.

Already has not had time to train Duke, although she does know how to do one trick. When Already made deliveries, Duke sat up front with them.

Samantha[edit | edit source]

Samantha was the first person to offer Already a stiff drink. Their preferred drink order at Snoopy's is a pickle juice martini.

Frankie Already[edit | edit source]

Already is a reflection of Frankie "Frank" Already. They feel responsibility for and guilt over Frank's actions, especially those relating to her editing of the Tunnel tapes, which Already thinks caused the apocalypse.

Abilities[edit | edit source]

When society shoves you out, you don't really have time to process. You need food, shelter, friends. The Arrival found their way to the enclave. Can they barter a measure of amnesty into a permanent home?

The Arrival is an individual in flux. Their power is contingent, technical, and suspect.
