The Miracle of the Mirage was an event in the Twilight Mirage, caused by the sentient planet Quire. After collapse of the Twilight Mirage caused by the death of Empyrean, the arrival of colonists from Earth, the activation of Volition by the Iconoclasts, and the seizing of the Cadent by Sui Juris, Quire began to concentrate the material that makes up the Mirage around itself, increasing its density greatly. At the same time, it began to utilise this increased density of mirage-stuff, in order to split itself into 8 different planets - Altar, Brighton, Crown, Gift-3, Moonlock, Seneschal, Skein, and Thyrsus.
