Twelfth's [[Tzadik unit|forces]] are stirred up and Mako and Paisley are nearly killed. The Chime's continued prodding at the Mesh piques Rigour's interest, although the last straws are when Cassander activates the ancient mech [[Apokine (mech)|Apokine]] and Paisley (his cybernetics defaulting to hidden protocols) kills Twelfth. In response, Rigour fully reveals itself, climbing out of the mines of Mode City in the hopes of taking control of either Voice or Apokine.

The September Incident is a confrontation between various factions which takes place on the planet September and especially Mode City.

Events begin to develop in "Another Facility Among Trees", culminating in "The Storm Over September" (COUNTER/Weight episodes 30-40). However, many of its important players were put in place due to earlier occurrences: Rigour embedded itself on September after Twelfth summoned it there using Voice;[1] the Steiger twins sent Paisley Moon and a backup fleet to September in their efforts to deal with Petrichor Automedia;[1][2] and after discussing terms with Ibex, the Chime agreed to attempt to rescue Maryland September and find a way to stop Rigour.[3]
